It’s the (2nd) most wonderful time of the year…… Charleston Restaurant Week! Charleston’s restaurant week is actually almost 2 weeks of specials (3 courses for $20, $30 or $40) in almost every restaurant in the Charleston area.  The awesome thing is you can eat at some really nice restaurants for wayyy less than the normal menu.

Lauren organized a girls dinner last night to kick off restaurant week and try out Grill 225, which most of us haven’t been to before.  It’s heralded as Charleston’s only 100% USDA Prime steak house, so we knew the dinner would be fantastic.  After getting some drinks (and realizing our waiter graduated with us) we got our first courses.  I got the chopped caesar which was packed into a cylinder of goodness.

For the second course we basically all got the filet mignon or prime rib (you had to get a steak there) and it was delicious!  The steaks were cooked perfect and the onions on top were surprisingly good too.  We also had green beans and potatoes maxim to share with the table, but the steaks were where my focus was.

Finally for the last course I had panna cotta with fresh berries and a massive benne wafer.  Unfortunately two of the dessert options (the chocolate ones 🙁 ) had tree nuts in them, but they looked tasty!  I really enjoyed my dessert —  after such a heavy meal, it was night to end on a light and in my mind, healthy note!

All in all it was a great night eating delicious food with good friends… and a great start to restaurant week!
