This past weekend Hunter and I headed to Wilmington, NC for his cousin Brooke’s, wedding. We got in on Friday, dropped our bags at the townhouse and headed to the rehearsal dinner at Dock on Bay, an older, event space with exposed brick. We ate great food, chatted with family and heard funny stories about the groom.
The next day Hunter, Mr. Wilds, Patty and I headed out to explore Wilmington. The Beach to Battleship triathlon was going on and we got to see the first few people finish up by the riverfront. I really enjoyed walking around the city and checking out some of the shops. We got dressed and headed to the Arts Center for the wedding.
The wedding was BEAUTIFUL! I must admit there was a great maid of honor (Hunter’s sister, Samantha)… The space was so unique, cocktail hour had great food and a delicious speciality cocktail, and I just loved the reception’s decorations. I had a great time with Hunter’s family and was also thoroughly entertained by the groomsmen who were mostly from Wales.
When we got back to Charleston on Sunday, Kirstin and Tim had just finished up brunch and come over to the apartment. They were in town for a wedding and decided to stay an extra day to hang out with us. We headed to The Shelter, met Will, Taylor, Meaghan and PJ and spent the afternoon watching football and enjoying the great weather. The four of us made a big spaghetti dinner that night and then Kirstin and Tim were off to Chicago in the morning..
It’s always great when you get to spend your weekend with great friends and family!
