This past Sunday Hunter and I headed to the Bay Street Biergarten to support SPARC at a bloody mary mix off event as part of our partnership with Draft a Celebrity and the local organizations they support. We were extra excited because Bay Street Biergarten opened a few months ago (where the old Boathouse was), but has been so popular we haven’t had the chance to eat there until now!

After the event, a group of us headed inside to get a table, have some lunch and watch football. The space is big and open and most of the tables are big too: 6 people booths with 3 beer taps attached.
Once the waitress “turns the tap on,” guests can just fill up a mug at their table, and an iPad keeps track of how many ounces you drank and what your bill is. If you’re not into the beers at the table, you can get a card, put money on it and go to the wall of beers to find a beer you want. Both options are dangerous since you are charged per ounce and typically don’t realize how quickly a mug fills up!
Food-wise, it was what you expected: upscale bar food that pairs well with beer. I went with the pimento cheese sticks (that you dip in a bacon jam, YUM) and a side of grilled veggies — a random order, but very good! Hunter enjoyed the grilled chicken sandwich, and we also tried the massive plate of tater tots that were covered with gouda and a sauce.
Verdict: The beers were a little expensive, but the food was good and we’ll definitely be back — especially in the spring and summer to enjoy the patio!
