This has been a cold 2 days for us in Georgia and South Carolina! If you somehow missed it, a big storm hit the south which brought rain, sleet, snow, and ice to many places that haven’t seen it in years. Since we don’t have snowplows, the roads became icy, bridges closed, and the rest is history..
In Charleston, we woke up to lots of ice, and sleet / snow with temperatures still dropping. I attempted to take Cleo out in it, but she wasn’t having it.. Hunter and I are both working from home today (we’re some of the lucky ones who still have power and internet) and won’t be going anywhere for awhile.
Stories from the snow:
- Shoutout to my Aunt Beth who stayed overnight at school last night with some stranded kids! You were a lifesaver for so many parents!
- Jim Cantore from The Weather Channel was reporting from the College of Charleston’s campus. Cofc students were up to their typical shenanigans: a guy tried to get on tv, which resulted in Jim taking him down.
- Chipper Jones got on a 4-wheeler to rescue Freddie Freeman, who was stranded in traffic. That’s a great teammate! #Bravescountry
- People opening their homes, and bringing supplies, food, or drink to stranded ATL motorists.
Stay warm!
Cantore is the man!
Heard so many stories from Atlanta friends. I definitely did not envy their commute on Tuesday!!
I know! It made me so happy Charleston starting shutting down early and we were all home when it hit.
I have watched my an Jim’s video several times…obviously.
