For some reason I’ve become infatuated with succulents lately and had my mind set on potting some this weekend. After enjoying the sun at the beach, I headed to a few spots around Mt. Pleasant to get what I needed and make my pot.
Pot of Succulents
What you’ll need:
- Succulents
- Pot — metal, clay, concrete..
- Potting soil
- Gravel like material
I heard Lowe’s had some cheap succulents, but I was pretty disappointed with their supply, so I headed down the street to Abide-a-while and spent ten minutes deciding on the ones I wanted. I ended up with 4 different varieties, yet couldn’t tell you their names. Also, instead of true gravel, I went with some crushed shells — shocker.
This is another easy one… Place the succulents in the pot and fill the rest ~3/4 the way full with soil. Fill in the top with the gravel / crushed shells and spread across evenly.
Voila, you have a cute lil pot of succulents! The best part: you barely have to water them and supposedly they’re very hard to kill. I think I’ll like these lil guys..
I feel like I would still find a way to kill these, despite their cuteness!
Jen, I know I will somehow succeed in killing them despite their cuteness. Haha
