During our December Supper Club we had a gift exchange and I walked away with the Sunday Suppers cookbook Danielle bought at Anthropologie.  Lightsey and I were flipping through it and found a mulled wine recipe.  I’d never had mulled wine before, so I thought it was perfect to make at our New Years party.


  • 4 C apple cider
  • 750mL bottle of red wine
  • 1/4 C honey
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • Zest and juice of 1 orange
  • 4 whole cloves

Combine all of the ingredients in a large pot or crockpot.  Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low and simmer for 12 minutes or cook in the crockpot on high for 2 hours, then reduce to low heat until you serve.

I also had some orange peel strips and cinnamon on hand for people to use as garnish!

The wine made my house smell great while it was cookingThis was a great way to stay warm while we were outside and I’ll be making it again for another chilly night!
