My friend Susu is always making delicious food in her crockpot (you should know this by now) and when I saw her post about Wings on wings on wings, my mouth started watering.  I love some good wings, but have never made them myself, so this seemed like the perfect opportunity to try.

Susu’s Crockpot Wingswings3

Ingredients:

  • Bag of wings
  • 1 bottle BBQ sauce

That’s it. Two ingredients.  I couldn’t possibly mess this up with only 2 ingredients right?  To start, I bought a bag of frozen chicken wings and a bottle of chipotle honey BBQ sauce.  Susu advised that I didn’t need to thaw out the chicken, but I might just need to let them cook a lil longer in the crockpot, so I did just that.

One afternoon at lunch, I went home to pull the chicken wings out, put them in the crockpot, pour in my BBQ sauce, and stir to coat the wings in it.  Then I set my crockpot on low, knowing they’d be ready around dinner time.

After ~6.5 hours (aka when we were both home from work), the wings were ready.

I took the wings out, put them on a pan covered in foil,  and broiled them in the oven for a few minutes to give them a little crispiness.  Serve with ranch and any other sides you want, and you’ve got some homemade wings for dinner!

Edits: You’d think with just 2 ingredients there would be nothing to change right? Well I didn’t read the recipe before going to the grocery store and got BBQ sauce instead of teriyaki sauce.  Oops.  Basically the same idea…?

Results: The wings were soooooo tender, like fall off the bone tender.  And this was seriously the easiest entree I’ve ever made.  We’ll definitely be making this again — especially during football season — and try all sorts of sauces.

Thanks Susu!
