After I posted about the green egg we got last week my grandma, Rollene, sent me a recipe that she used to make with Bebe on their grill. Since Marc and Melissa were coming over that Sunday for dinner, and I needed a dessert, this seemed like a great way to use up some peaches (and an excuse to keep the grill going).
Grilled Peaches
- 4-5 Peaches (~1 per person)
- Butter
- Brown sugar
- Aluminum foil
Cut your peaches in half and remove the pit. Then slice the peaches into fourths. Put the peaches on the aluminum foil. Put a little bit of butter and brown sugar on top. You can also add some blueberries if you have them on hand!
Close the foil and make a little pouch, so none of the butter or sugar can leak out, then place on the grill. Cook for ~30 minutes, or until the peaches are to your tenderness liking. Serve immediately as a side, or with ice cream!
Results: Delicious! It’s the perfect mix of hot and cold, plus some sweet. And it was a great complement to the burgers, tomato pie (yes mom, I ate and liked tomato pie), and grilled corn. Dare I call it a perfect Sunday, summertime dinner?
This sounds great. May we suggest that you try the same recipe, but add a dash (or three) of a good chipotle rub (like Miner Mix Wholly Chipotle)? Adds a new dimension!
That sounds interesting — we’ll have to try it!
