Okay, are you ready for possibly the easiest “recipe” I’ve ever posted? It’s not even a true recipe, just a few words telling you to wrap one thing around another because the flavors are great together and will wow anyone that eats it. Also, these lil bites are like crack, and will disappear quickly at your next dinner or cookout (like a 4th of July event coming up??).
Prosciutto Wrapped Melon
Ingredients:
- Melon
- Prosciutto
- Toothpicks
Cut your melon into bite sized pieces. Tear your prosciutto into slightly smaller pieces, and wrap one piece of prosciutto around the melon.
Keep the prosciutto in place by putting tooth picks through it and the melon. And just like that, you’re done!
Edits: Add some cheese, like fresh mozzarella, or some mint and a balsamic vinegar to class it up a little more.
Results: In my opinion, this is a perfect “I just left the beach and have 30 minutes to shower and pull something together on my way to a party” type of appetizer. It screams summer, is easy to grab and assemble last minute, and will please everyone (except vegetarians).
This is one of my all-time favorite things to make! I’ve recently been thinking about making something similar when peaches are in full season — prosciutto wrapped peaches! Is there anything cured pork can’t do?
