The second party I hosted in August was a bridal shower for our friend Lauren. Seven of us friends (and bridesmaids) came up with a few fun themes, but ultimately opted for a floral bridal luncheon overlooking the water. Floral as in we thought a fun activity would be to make flower crowns while drinking champagne! Who wouldn’t enjoy that?
Food + Drink
The party was during brunch, so we opted for more of a breakfast finger food menu with ham biscuits, quiches, pimento cheese / chicken salad sandwiches, fruit, and mini tomato pies.
We also had mini bunt cakes from Nothing Bunt Cake that were both adorable and delicious!
I made a punch (recipe coming soon), and used my grandma’s punch set again!
We also had a mimosa bar & fruit infused water for drink options.
Decor
The invitations were bright and colorful so we continued that into our decor! We also hung silver balloons by the mantle that spelled out their wedding date to act as a backdrop when Lauren opened presents.
I offered to make a welcome chalkboard again after getting some practice for Maggie’s party. Let me tell you, the chalkboard pen you use makes a HUGE difference. These were more like markers and much easier to control and use unlike the crayon like ones I used before.
We hosted the party at a family house on the river, which was such a beautiful setting! I’m always amazed at what our group of friends can put together – a solid group of hostesses!
All in all it was a great party and huge success! Now the countdown to the bachelorette weekend in Nashville continues, and the wedding in October!!
