One of my responsibilities for Lauren’s bridal shower was making a punch and bringing my family punch set.  I only remember having one punch growing up and it was one my grandma Rollene made , and then became popular at any event my parent’s bridge club hosted.  It only seemed fitting to make that punch for the party and post the recipe (so I would have it for later)!

Mrs. Elder’s Frozen Punch

  • 12 oz can frozen orange juice
  • 46 oz can pineapple juice
  • 4 oz lemon juice
  • 20 oz can grapefruit juice
  • Dash of cherry juice
  • 2/3 C sugar
  • 2 bottles of Champagne or Sprite

Mix all the juices together in a big bowl.  Add enough sugar to make it a little sweet, ~2/3 cup.  Put the container in the freezer and freeze until it’s slushy.  If you freeze overnight, take it out with enough time to let it thaw some and become slushy.

When you’re ready to serve, add one part juice slush to one part champagne (or Sprite for non-alcoholic punch).  About 2 bottles of champagne were the perfect amount for the juice mixture we had.  Serve in punch glasses, and enjoy!

Edits: The recipe is versatile since you can make it alcoholic or not, so it can be used at almost any event!  I used champagne this time, but will swap out Sprite as needed.

Fun fact: My mom gave me the recipe and it still said Mrs. Elder’s Frozen punch, because she got it from Rollene before they were married.  I love that 🙂
