Our screened porch was the first room in the new house that can be considered “put together.” We immediately added some of our furniture and decor to it when we first moved in, but we’ve already done even more since then.
We ended up finding a great deal on a 5 piece outdoor sectional couch and table and ordered it. Once that was put together, we put the old couch & table on the deck and assembled the new one. Then I was on the hunt for a good outdoor rug which I found at Target (and got on sale).
This was when I started having a vision for the screened porch and new I wanted to add some greens & teals in via pillows. I ordered 2 covers from a shop on Etsy, then water proofed my navy & white pillow cover to complete the couch.
The last projects were to hang my buoys from Kennebunkport, Maine on the corner post, repaint part of my anchor door hanger, and bring in the potted plant from the deck.
Boom. Screened porch is done! Or at least in really great shape so I can focus my attention to other rooms..
outdoor sectional | target rug | palm pillows | water proofed pillow | buoys | succulents
And don’t worry, Cleo is LOVING the porch. She has a new game where she asks to go out, then in, then out, etc.. But she’ll spend hours laying on the rug or on the couch pretending to be an outdoor kitty. Case in point – she’s sleeping by me as I write this.
If you know our family, then you know we have a thing for cardinals being godwinks from my dad and I’m happy to say that there is a cardinal that hangs out in the backyard regularly. There’s even a female cardinal that sometimes comes around, so we named her Karen after Hunter’s mom. It’s nice to know they’re with us in the new place!
We’ve really enjoyed the screened porch in the evenings when the temperature is under 90 degrees and I can’t wait to use it more as we get closer to fall and the humidity isn’t so high! 1 room down…
Your porch looks wonderful, so comfortable and in a nice private setting. I love the big anchor and buoys. I recently posted my porch pictures, too, great minds think alike! 🙂
Haha yes – great minds! Love the wooden walls in yours!
I love your porch, and what a lovely backyard!
Thanks! It made a huge difference once we took the fence down!

Thank you! Clearly I like the coastal vibe too 😉 ?

<3 Kennebunkport….those buoys are a nice touch! This looks like the type of porch I would love to just sit on and enjoy a glass of wine.
