I was so excited when my sister and brother-in-law came in town to visit us for a long weekend!  They got in town as we were getting off work on Friday and we were ready for a weekend of crafts & golf.

While the boys played golf on Saturday morning, Lauren and I came up with the list of materials we needed for the projects she wanted to make and went shopping.  Then we got started on all of our projects.  Day 1 were the paper flowers for her guest room, office desk and co-workers.  Saturday afternoon & night we were all lazy and snacked while watching college football.

Sunday morning we headed to Palmetto Islands County Park to go on a hike while the boys played golf (see a theme starting?).  We walked a few miles and got some great photos of the marsh near us.  Then it was back to crafts!  Day 2 we started a wooden Christmas sign, made burlap Christmas trees, and I made my fabric pumpkins.

We headed over to our favorite, Obstinate Daughter, for dinner.  Darren loved their chowder and we all left stuffed on pasta, pizza, flatbread and fennel.

The weather wasn’t amazing on Monday, but Lauren and I headed downtown for me to drop some items off at a local shop and then walk around the houses until the rain came.  We parked on Tradd and meandered to the Battery and back, getting some fun photos of window boxes and fall decor on the beautiful, old houses.

Back at the house, we were at it again finishing up the wooden sign and making our felt & berry wreaths.  Lauren liked my fabric pumpkins so much she decided to make her own so we cranked out 12 of those too.  She worked me to the bone this weekend!

We headed back downtown for dinner at the Darling Oyster Bar, then a drink at Stars’ rooftop.

It was great having family in town for a long weekend and be tourists in our own city.  Hopefully the next time they come to town we’ll have more house updates done!
