Like I mentioned, bachelorette season is back and I recently went on the first trip of the year to celebrate my college friend, Catherine!  We headed south to Fort Lauderdale for some much needed sun and warm weather after the January snow.

We did a long weekend and got into town on Thursday afternoon then headed straight to the house.  Her sister found a great spot on the canal with a pool and the perfect amount of beds for the 10 of us.  We put on our suits and hung out in the pool while waiting for people to get there then headed to S3 for dinner.

S3 is down by the beach and has a great patio, huge bar area and more inside restaurant (doors were open so everything was very inside /outside).  We had a few appetizers like the edamame and goat cheese croquettes and cocktails.  They had some delicious sounding options so I went with the s3 sampler where you can get smaller versions of 3 to taste if you can’t decide.

For dinner we had a little of everything between our group: sushi, pork belly sliders, brussels sprouts, shrimp, etc.  Overall I was impressed with the menu and left full and excited about what Fort Lauderdale had in store for us! Next we walked over to the Living Room at the W hotel for a few drinks before heading back to the house as 2 more friends arrived.

Friday morning we had breakfast by the pool then took the water taxi down to Las Olas blvd and A1A and went to H2O Cafe for lunch out front over looking the beach.  It was a pretty touristy area and the restaurant catered to that – we had frozen drinks and typical beach grill type of food. We walked over to Coconut’s for another drink and hanging out on their deck before going back to the house.

That night’s dinner was on Las Olas at Louie Bossi.  I LOVED this restaurant.  The front is like an Italian restaurant, then there’s a whole covered courtyard out back with fun seating and music.  Luckily we were out back at a huge table.  I enjoyed bruscetta as an appetizer (way bigger portion than I expected) and split the rigatoni with Lauren for dinner.  Definitely split the pasta – it easily fed both of us.

After filling ourselves with delicious food we walked down for drinks at American Social and then The Wilder (great name, huh 😉 ).  We had a blast at The Wilder and danced the night away.

Saturday morning started with brunch at Shooters.  This place was also huge and had a great outdoor dining area on the canal.  They also had a menu full of seafood, brunch, and American classics.

We spent Saturday afternoon by the pool and even had a massage therapist come for 15 minute increments.  This was one of the best ideas and we all loved a lil massage while relaxing outside in the perfect weather.

After eating out all weekend, we had a catered Mexican dinner at the house which was perfect.  We destroyed some tacos and then got back into pjs and hung out in the living room for the lingerie shower and then finished the night watching the Olympics (and I shared all my Olympic knowledge).

A few of us were up early on Sunday morning to catch flights and head back home.  It was back to reality on Monday!  Hoping my tan lasts until the wedding, or else it warms up a little more so I can get some color before the big day in April!
