The project that got my wheels spinning for the blue floral theme at my cousin’s baby shower was the ‘Oh Baby’ banner. I used the geometric banner as a template since I created them at the same time, but knew it was going to have a very different look based on my paper choices and the addition of the paper flowers.

‘Oh Baby’ Banner
What you’ll need:
- Gray card stock (3 12″x12″ pieces)
- White card stock (3 12″x12″ pieces)
- Gold glitter card stock (1 12″x12″ sheet)
- 3 shades of blue card stock (1 12″x12″ sheet each)
- 2 shades of green card stock (1 12″x12″ sheet each)
- Cricut Maker
- Spatula
- Hot glue gun
- Twine
- Scissors
I used my basic banner template and updated the colors to be the gray / white background and then each letter in gold glitter. Then I inserted several of the poppy flowers to my canvas and changed to color to be 3 different shades of blue, 1 per banner piece and 3 on the separator.

When everything is set on the canvas, cut all the pieces out. Assemble the flowers according to the directions and then glue all the letters & flowers to the banner pieces.

Finally, thread some twine throughout the pieces to link the pieces into 1 banner. I hung it up in my office before the shower to see what it looked like with my larger flowers and the DIY onesie station.

At the shower, we put the banner on a wall above all the food, which paired nicely with the food place cards we had set out that I matched to the banner.

This is currently my favorite banner that I’ve created (I know I’ve said this before, haha). I love how the flowers added another element and some depth to the banner, plus it gave it a way to tie into other aspects of the shower!
Want to create your own banner? Find my project in Design Space here.

Cool! I tried to click on your design space link but it said it was private – do I need to do something else?
Oh shoot! I may have made it private by accident. I’ll have to double check the canvas setting
Ok, just checked it and updated the link for good measure 🙂 Did you get a Cricut?? I can’t wait to see what you make! Esp for cupcake!
Thanks! I did! I’ve only made a couple things here & there lol. I did make the shirt she’s wearing in my latest post 😉
Aw I should have known!
Wow this is tooo fun! I love the blue color mix with the gold!
Tried to find the link, but it says it’s private. Can you share again? Thanks!
Hi! The link to the canvas in Design Space should work, or you can try https://design.cricut.com/#/design/new/projects/user-project/123744314 . It’s linked on my profile as well: https://design.cricut.com/#/profile/57fd88f69594e28709688b79
Hi! I absolutely love this banner! I am throwing a baby shower next month and would love to recreate this, however, the banner is currently showing up as a private project. Is there a way to share the project with me? Thanks!!
It shows up as public and shared when I view it in Design Space. I’ve tried a few times to make sure it’s shareable and it always says it is and shows up on my DS profile. Not sure why it’s not showing up!
Hey! How do you do the Center of the flowers? Is it just rolled? Thank you!
Hey Stacey – yup, you roll them! Fold over the taller side adn start rolling from that end and hot glue the end so it stays together. Then you’ll have a smaller, folded part in the middle with the stammen on the outside!
Thank you so much! Can’t wait to try this!
You’ll have to share it!! I’m about to reuse this banner again this weekend
