The renovation is 99% done (hooray!!), so as we finish getting rooms together, I’ll be sharing them on the blog! The first one up is the guest bedroom downstairs.
Before we get into the details, let’s start by looking at the listing photo when we bought the house in 2017:

The guest bedroom was largely untouched over the last 2.5 years because it wasn’t that bad. We had furniture for the room and it basically looked like this when the renovation started.
This room had minor work done to it compared to other areas of the house: scraped ceiling, new hardwood floors, trim, crown molding, wall and ceiling paint, interior doors, door hardware and closet system. We also got a new bed frame, mattress and ceiling fan since they needed to be upgraded and it was the perfect time to do so. Shutters on the window were installed in early 2019 so are newer, but weren’t part of the renovation.
Here’s what the room looks like now!

Bed Frame: Wayfair | Palm Pillows: Etsy | Pelican Pillow: Amanda McLenon | Charleston map: Lisa Mosow | Live Edge Side Tables | Door Knobs
We still plan on adding some curtains and will likely refinish the shelf that’s in the nook, but it’s ready to go for now.
The guest room already had its first guest when our family came after Christmas to celebrate in Charleston together. Can’t wait for more family & friends to stay here now!

I have so loved seeing your renovations!! This is one amazing guest room. & Those pillows 😍
Thanks! I’m so glad we’re toward the very end of it all
