Time for another renovation reveal: the living room!
There are 3 rooms we spend the most time in (and therefore I was most excited about renovating): kitchen, master bedroom and living room. This room has always been comfortable, but just outdated. Not for long!
Here’s a listing photo from back in 2017:

So what all did we do in here? Get ready…. Replaced carpet with hardwoods, dry walled in the opening to FROG, ship lapped the ceiling, replaced the sliding doors with French doors, replaced all trim, extended built in cabinets to ceiling on left side of fireplace, replaced cabinet doors with shaker style doors, painted the walls, ceiling and cabinets, replaced the mantle with a thicker one (that also hides tv cables), white washed the fireplace, installed new ceiling fan, removed track lighting, added can lights, updated trim around new opening to kitchen, and added an air return in here as part of the HVAC replacement.
Phew. This was one of the bigger undertakings where literally every inch of every wall was touched in some way over the course of a few months.

Now let’s see the transformation! Just the updated color palette made a big difference. What was honey colored wood and green walls is now white, gray and blues! And Fred the fiddle is happy to be back in his corner after living in our room for a few months.

Couch: TD Interiors | Coffee Table: Nadeau | Rug: Wayfair | Fiddle Leaf: Abide-a-While
I can’t finish without showing the before & afters!

Now the front corner has a play mat and there’s also a jumparoo by the couch (and typically a bouncer down here as well).. All things I never thought would be in our living room, but in a playroom instead. I should’ve known that wouldn’t be the case, but I wouldn’t change a thing!
I constantly just admire the beautiful brick fireplace and room when we’re sitting in the living room and can’t believe this is our living room.

Wonderful! Love how you’ve styled your shelves. And the toys everywhere only get worse just so you know 😆
haha good to know so I can expect it!
