Time for another renovation reveal today: the playroom! This room has been a few things in planning and I often referred to it as the FROG (finished room over garage). At one point Hunter even thought it’d be the man cave. That was short lived, haha.

First up, one of the listing photos:

Overall not a bad room. Plenty of space, but like every other room in the house it was outdated and needed some serious love.

This room actually got the biggest makeover in the house: we moved the door, closed up the opening to the living room, added a closet with 2 doors, added built in cabinets and consolidated the 2 electrical spots for a fan / light to 1 centered one. Plus everything else: new hardwood floors, trim, ceiling, wall, trim & cabinet paint, new hardware, doors, and fan. Oh and during the HVAC replacement, we added another air intake in here to make the upstairs system more efficient.

The whole enchilada.

I slowly created a design board for this room once I had a better idea of what we’d use it for and what furniture we could reuse.

Since this was the storage room for downstairs furniture when we lived upstairs, it was the last room we had to move stuff out of after the downstairs was finished. Once it was emptied out, we got it cleaned up, I ordered a rug, moved a lot of lil man’s toys upstairs and it quickly became the playroom. And home to my pretty, organized storage bins 😉

Now for the fun comparison photos:

This room is still very much a work in progress. We’re hoping to get a Nugget couch for the room (although I’ve been unlucky the last 2 restocks), We’ll add a TV for Sesame Street, a putting mat, chairs for the table so he can color when he gets older and a bulletin board above the table for his art masterpieces. We will also make a more permanent desk area with a monitor and chair (and put that one back in the kitchen).

Slowly getting there!
