Better late than never!
In early August, we celebrated my niece’s first birthday. It’s pretty clear how much our family loves the Olympics, so when they were postponed from 2020 to 2021, it became the perfect first birthday theme!
I created a “one” image with a gold medal that we incorporated into everything. Seriously, everything. The invitation, a banner, high chair sign, cake topper, letter board sign, and cup cake toppers. It was also used in an embroidered onesie for the birthday girl and cookies! I even made a video with them all.
My sister also made Olympic rings (styrofoam wrapped in colored ribbon), a “torch relay” with photos from 0-12 months and the cauldron with the flame.
The best surprise was my mom bringing the polo and hat from when she volunteered at the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta. 25 years later, it was worn again in Atlanta for her granddaughter’s birthday! And you all know I loved wearing such a historic outfit 🙂

There are so many fun ways to incorporate the Olympic spirit into a party! And now the Winter Olympics are just a few months away 🙂
