Last year I made a garland with some wooden bunnies for Easter, so decided to do something similar with the wooden heart ornaments I had in my craft closet for some Valentine’s Day decor.

Painted Hearts Garland

What you’ll need:

  • Wooden hearts
  • Light blue acrylic paint
  • Dark blue acrylic paint
  • Exacto knife
  • White ribbon
  • Scissors
  • Tape

Start by putting a few dots of darker blue and lighter blue acrylic paint on a heart. Place another heart on top and twist them around to blend the paint. When you pull them apart, use the other to smear paint over if any areas still need paint. Let them dry over night.

The next day use an exacto knife to cut off any excess paint that seeped over the edges.

Thread the ribbon through the hole and tie it off. I also taped the ribbon to the back of the heart so they would face out and not turn around.

Hang your garland and enjoy!
